Mineral Hygienics has everything we want in a mineral makeup. Great coverage, flawless finish, nonirritating, lasts until you take it off and it's very affordable. I've been using mineral makeup for 10 years and this is by far the best.
Like many people, I prefer mineral makeup to liquid foundation. I've tried several name brands that were okay but each one had elements that I didn't like. Some made my skin itchy, others made me break out and all of them seemed to melt off my face by the end of the day. I put up with these issues because after using mineral makeup there's no way I'd ever go back to liquid foundation. At least with minerals, you don't feel like your wearing any makeup. As I continued to search for a mineral makeup that would give me excellent coverage, stay on all day and not cause acne or itchy skin, I read about a brand called, Mineral Hygienics. I'd never heard of it but became intrigued by their claims to resolve the problems I've had in the past.
The starter kit seemed a bit pricey at $59.99. I considered buying just one foundation to try it out, but seeing that the products are full size and come with 3 quality brushes, I decided if this makeup is as good as it claims, it was a great deal.
I received my starter kit and have been using it for a week. I was very impressed with how the foundation went on. It covered so well, It looked so natural. I'm over 40 so that is extremely important. At the end of my first day of wearing Mineral Hygienics, I can honestly tell you that I was shocked when I looked in the mirror as I left work for home and my makeup looked just as perfect as when I put in on 8 hours earlier. It blended with my skin tone so nicely, I didn't feel as though I was wearing any makeup. I can't wait to try the lipstick and eye shadows.
Most mineral makeup contains an ingredient called, bismuth oxychloride which is a common ingredient found in most foundations. It gives the makeup a silky feel and good adhesion, which helps it stay on your skin. It feels smooth and silky when rubbed between the fingers. It is often described as a lustrous crystalline powder. The skin reactions that so many of have is likely caused by bismuth oxychloride. Since mineral makeup doesn't contain talc, mineral oil, aluminum powder, alcohol, manufactures use higher concentrations of bismuth oxychloride than found in traditional makeup. It's commonly used because it also gives a visible sheen to the makeup, so it's good at refracting light and that helps draw attention away from, and camouflage, fine lines, wrinkles and minor discolorations. That's a great selling point for makeup. Having said that, who needs it if your going to have a skin reaction? Mineral Hygienics ingredients does not include bismuth oxychlorid. In fact, Mineral Hygienics only contains 4 ingredients: Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Mica and Zinc Oxide.

As a student with a busy schedule, I love that Mineral Hygienics is quick and easy to apply and doesn't show mistakes or make-up lines like some foundations. With its lasting coverage I can apply it in the morning and forget about it for the rest of the day.
